Episode Transcription

Susan: Hello, and welcome to The Morning Filter. I’m Susan Dziubinski, investment specialist for Morningstar

Dave: And I’m Dave Sekera, chief US market strategist for Morningstar.

Susan: Every Monday morning, we look at the upcoming week through Morningstar’s filter to help investors focus on what matters.

Dave: Then we share what new Morningstar research you shouldn’t miss, and provide investors with a few stock picks or pans or even swap ideas.

Susan: Over the short-term, stock prices can be driven by noise – noise from news events, rumors, and the media. But in my thirty-plus years in the financial industry, one thing stands out to me: invest for the long term and filter out that noise.

Dave: Exactly. Our job here at Morningstar is to help investors focus on the fundamentals.

We hold ourselves accountable. Not only will we talk about where our calls have worked out, we’ll review when our calls haven’t worked and delve into why.

Susan: So, if you’re looking for unique insights on the market from voices you can trust, you’ve found the right place. Join us Monday mornings on The Morning Filter. Listen and subscribe wherever you stream podcasts.
